When did Norton become such a piece of crap? I have used it for years
satisfactorily. Since upgrading to 2005, email refuses to work without
booting and rebooting before every send/receive. All configurations are as
they should be )according to Norton).

I suppose it would not be as bad if there was a way to contact those cheap
a**es.

Windows XP SP2
Outlook 2000

Tried everything advised and could find in online help files and etc.

Ideas?

TIA

Uninstall it and reinstall but do not check the option for Norton to check
incoming/outgoing mail.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Norton has never been a good AV in my opinion being a resource hog! The best
solution is AVG Pro or NOD32. They are small, powerful and very efficient and
best of all use little resource. I find it a great companion for any outlook
user.
