I accidentally overwrote the blank templant in Word with
a document. This has created two problems.
1) Each time I bring up a blank document it is no longer
blank.
2) Each time I reply to an email using outlook this
document is inserted at the bottom of the reply email.

I have seached my C drive using MS Explorer to try and
locate the Normal.dot template but nothing is found.

How do I overwrite the current Normal.dot templant with a
blank document or restore it to it's original blank state?

Thank you!

I was having a problem with the Normal.dot. When I tryed
shuting down Word it kept asking if I wanted to over write
the Normal.dot.

What my help desk person told me was to just delete the
Normal.dot using Windows Explore.

Then when you open a new Word Doc, Word will then create a
new Normal.dot file and you should be fine.

The path to the normal.dot template in Win2K or XP is usually in the profile you did that in, C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.Dot or you can copy the normal.dot to the profile you want. thats probably easier. That path could be different dpending on your OS. Hope that helps you.

I did the same thing. When I start a new document,
another document comes up instead of a blank page. I have
no idea how to fix it. Did you ever find out?
