Non Printing File

I have a single Word document which "hangs" whenever I try to print it.

It is 11 Megabytes (125 pages)in size and was created under Word 2002. It
contains many screen dumps in JPG format.

When attempting to print the document Winword runs 98-100 of CPU time
according to Task Manager. Eventually I need to close the Non Responding
program.

It does not matter to which of the networked printers on the LAN I attempt
to print it or how many pages I want to print. Just a single page is
sufficient to cause it all to hang.

I have tried to caopy and paste to another document but the new document has
the same problem.

The same problem occurs attempts are made to print from another computer on
the network.

This is the only file which has the problem.

As the file is the Help Manual for the LAN I would really like to be able to
print it and have a hard copy to look at rather than only be able to view the
document on the screen.

Regards

Bob

If this is the only file you've had a problem with, is it the largest ever
done? It may be that you need to update your printer driver. There was no
mention of printer settings, if you're trying to print from
Standard/Automatic that may not work. It might be better to select the
slowest setting possible, in order to give your printer a chance to read the
data. It may very well take a long time. Whether it is a Bubble Jet or Laser
makes a difference. Have you checked printer progress, while it hangs, or
does it give an error message or flashing indicator light? Check with the
manufacturer of the printer, and they might be able to tell you more
specifically how to work around the problem. Another detail that makes a
difference is whether this is one sided or two. If this one sided, make it
two, and cut your page volume in half. Decrease font sizes, delete a few
picture objects, or whatever it takes to get that page number down. I hope it
works out. Wish I could help more.
