Steve

Microsoft can't figure this out, nobody in this newsgroup
and a dozen others I've reviewed can figure out this IE
Hanging stuff.

The situation has been happening everywhere but nobody
knows how to fix it and I'm one of those who just doesn't
know what else to do....and please don't suggest Spyware,
Scumware, Adware or any other ware....It's not it.

Steve.

I'm having the same problem as the rest of you. I hope
that someone can find a fix! I've shut off my firwall and
antivirus scanning without result. I've run SpyBot.
Nothing works.

Greg

I tried the spybot and it worked for me. Please remember
to update the program and install. My ie has been down
since last week. I have spend hours trying to fix. Thank
you Frank Saunders this was driving me crazy.

cross your fingers hope it does not break again.

Ok, this is what I've found thru a little snooping.
Our spyware programs ie, spybot, ad-aware, and many others get rid o
programs that attach themselves to our dll and other files in IE
Problem is when we get rid of the spyware we get rid of the file
needed in IE. Looks like maybe a winsock problem. Still working on
fix on my end.
using 1 win98FE, 1 win98SE, 2 win2k pro, and 1 win2000svr. all hav
IE6.0 all have same problem after removing spyware.
IE hangs just at around 98% download

Steve,
This will turn out to be some sort of malware which has infected these
computers. IE is *not* hanging for millions of users.
But... constructive suggestion time... have you tried Spysweeper from
http://www.spysweeper.com/ ?

Or, download HijackThis from:
http://radiosplace.com/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
and post a log to the HijackThis Logs forum at http://forum.mvps.org/

In a few days the removal programs will be able to remove this (whatever it
is.) It takes time.

Regards,
Don
