My other laptop, HP Pavilion dv1411se came with wireless internet access
capability but it's gone now and I can't access to the internet from the
laptop. Wireless bottom on the upper right corner on the keyboard is off and
can't be turned on. Please help.

Zero Configuration 1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click
Network and Internet Connections. 2. Click Network Connections, right-click
Wireless Connection, and then click Properties. 3. View the available options:

Hello Mark,

Thank you for the advise but I don't have "wireless connection" under
"network connection" in the laptop that I have problem with. Please advise
how can I retrieve the icon. Thank you.

The wireless access provided uses some device. It will be listed in Device
Manager, and you should first try 'refreshing' the driver it uses. You may
have been provided a disk to use to do this, or you may be able to use a
windows driver.

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the device, Action menu,
"Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers again
automatically.

Under "Device Manager", which Icon should I highlight? My top/main Icon is
called "YOUR- 4105E587B6" and when I highlight the icon, there is no
"uninstall" under "action" but "scan for hardware changes".

Go to Start/Run, and type:
MSINFO32

You should be able to find your Network device in the "Components" area.
After identifying it, use device manager to uninstall the device, and restart.

I believe that "your network device" you mentioned below is "YOUR-
4105E587B6" in my system. However, I don't have "uninstall" option under
"action" or when I right click "YOUR- 4105E587B6". Under "action", I have 3
options of "scan", "print", or "help" and when I right click the "YOUR-
4105E587B6", only option is "scan". I checked "view" and checked hidden
icons but I don't see "uninstall" in anywhere including under "YOUR-
4105E587B6". Please advise my next option. Thank you.

If you rightclick the device, and then Properties, the Driver tab should have
a button for "Update Driver" If you can't make that work, you are probably
out of luck. Some kind of variation on "Have Disk" and a supplied disk for
the system might be available.
