Is there a firewall or something in Windows XP that needs to be unchecked or
something? My friend has zone alarm and it can not do live updates - nor
will any other program connect to the internet - the only way they can get
on the internet is to go thru OE - but even while on the internet, zone
alarm can not do live updates, nor can they get a pciture off the internet
thru say - word or something....any help appreciated.

Zone Alarm does not have a full live update. What Zone Alarm does is check
for availability of updates {automatically if you have so selected}. When
you click on update, Zone Alarm opens your default browser and goes to a web
site where you can download the update. The update web site has instructions
for downloading and installing.

Do not understand the picture part of your question. Has your friend tried
to select the picture and copy/paste into Word or to download the picture as
an image file?

Hi Pam,

Go to Zone Alarm > program control
and check that the programs in question are allowed access to the
Internet, especially iexplore.exe
