works
fine. i just had got new cpu for my amd64,

when i had changed it over nothing was coming on the screen. now i've the
done the normal stuff clean my BIOS, check my jumper settings tried booting
from windows and linux cds but i get nothing at all ? my fans run fine. but i
dont get any sound from my internal speakers?. even so that should be an
easly problem to slove ?

does any one have any ideas or any methods that work ???

if you have onboard video and an agp adapter be sure to disable the
onboard adapter in the bios, check the cable, most new monitors have an
auto sync/config option try running that from the buttons on the
monitor to ensure its refresh rate etc are correctly set.

i dont have a onboard one, i have ati x1300 512mb, well i have taken my pc
apart tested each part. HHDs are fine, memory seems to be ok, i've tried the
bios but
no luck, i've even taken out the cpu and put it back in again, .

so right now i only have the cpu running with the grahpics card but still
the same thing. so im thinking my motherboard has gone

what sort of monitor is it? have you tried sticking an old crt monitor
to that pc and booting? what happens? maybe try the video card in
another pc.. is it vga or dvi cable your using?

i got a philips 20 " wide screen mointor. using a dvi,

i did some more tests, now i know ( hight chance) the cpu/motherborad/ has
gone.

i cheaked my grahpics card @ a mates thats dead, so seems like i need to
build a new system from bottom up

A faulty graphics can can fsck everything up in your system, you might
want to try a new video card before you go and replace the mobo and
cpu.. but it could have been a power surge or something that has
destroyed your hardware.
