No Video in .mpg file

I read that WMM recognizes .MPG files put when I tried to import a .mpg file I could only hear the audio, I saw only black for the video. Why

This is footage from a DV camera that has been put on a blank DVD and then onto my hard drive. Video plays fine on my RealPlayer but WMM won't import the video. Any answers out there

I tried to import other very small .mpg clips and they worked but not this file. Any answers out there

MM2 works fine with MPEG1 files. But MPEG2 are a different story. Both files
might end with .mpg

Playback/importing of MPEG2 content is completely dependant on the third
party MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer. Most do not work well. See
the Importing Source Files > Video > MPEG2 page of www.papajohn.org
