No Task Manager

Ok, now I dont know WHAT to do! I cannot access my Task
Manager using ctrl+atl+del or by right clicking on the
task bar and selecting Task Manager. Everytime I do, the
screen just goes on like it doesnt even exist. People
have suggested a virus. I have scanned my computer with
McAffee and Symantec--using both online system scans.
Result: NOTHING. I have used a trial version of
BitDefender and it comes up with 5 viruse-related file in
my Outlook Express. BitDefender doesnt seem to want to
allow me delete them. Why is this picking stuff up that
McAfee and Symantec arent? Is there another possible
solution to fixing this problem?? PLEASE HELP ME!!

FWIW You can try Trend Micro's online scan;
(www.trendmicro.com).

I've seen it work enough times to be a fan.

You could also try a recovery/repair from your XP distro cd.
 
I also forgot to mention that i deleted the files that
were associated with the "Virus" that BifDefender
detected. I hope this doesn't screw anything up.

Ok, sorry... done that already. From dougknox, everything
makes a copy except task manager. Thanks for the help
though. Anything I might have deleted by accident?
