Hello!

Does anyone know what it is embedded need to be able to install Windows
SQL
server? It works when I do the same on XP proff.
Starting to get desperate, I only get messages from Microsoft SQL Server
Desktop
Engine saying "Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server
error logs and
setup error logs for more information".
My embedded is rather substantial, but I cannot find any logs mentioned.
When I
look in the event viewer the same information is there as in the
message.

I got what is needed to install msi files, so that shouldn’t be the
problem.

I can not find the answer for this problem anywhere else so I am hoping
for a hero
out there!!

Rosemarie,

Have you included all the MSDE dependencies (static, dynamic) in to your image? You mentioned only the msi installer is there.
Use Dependency Walker tool to find out all the dependencies you need.

Thanks for answering my question!
I have learned that the problem was that I also needed IIS. It was a communication problem.
