No sound

Hello
I have a Sony desktop with Soundmax intergrated digital audio. I get no
sound after upgrading from Vista beta 2 toRelease Candidate 1. It worked well
before. In the device manager I get an error code and message that states
This device cannot start (code 10). Thanks in advance.

I had the same type of problem with a Creative Audigy 1 card in the upgrade
from 5600 to 5728. Unfortunately I have not been able to get sound
restored.

You could uninstall the sound device, then reboot and reinstall the drivers.

The problem seems to be drivers that are not fully compatible yet with Vista
coupled with the change in builds. That can cause features that were
working to not work.
