I have done a clean install of XP Pro and everything seems to be fine except
that I have no sound or video!
I thought XP Pro finds the drivers automatically?
I'm sure I am missing something.
eMachines Celeron 2.6 ghz / DVD/CD-R / 512 RAM /
I have an Intel Extreme Graphics card (845GV).
Should I get this driver from Intel?
What about sound?
Thanks in advance.

I would go to update the xp at the microsoft site,
sometimes they have driver downloads on there which will
be detected automatically if you are missing them :)

XP has a lot of drivers included in it, but not every driver for every
piece of hardware that is made! Go to the eMachines site and look for
downloads for your model (and be sure you get drivers for XP). Read any
installation instructions first.

On my machine I have Intel Extreme Graphics 845G but this is a chipset on
the motherboard rather that a separate graphics card. Likewise, my sound is
Avance AC97 Audio, also a chipset on the motherboard rather than a separate
sound card.

You should go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information.
Click on Components then Sound Device. If you find that your sound device
is the same as mine you will find the drivers for the various chipsets on a
separate disk related to your motherboard rather than on the Windows XP
disk.
