no sound need help

Hi
my computer can not produce anysound at all. I try to go to control
panel>sounds and Audio Devices> but everything is disabled(greyed out) and
can not be set up. What is wrong with my audio system?

Has it ALWAYS been silent?

If not, WHEN did it start?

After you installed WHAT software... or after you TWEAKED WHAT
settings on your machine?

If it started recently, have you attempted to do a SYSTEM RESTORE?
 
It is my store's computer, it used to work before. There is sound whenever we
scan for item. However, technician guy changed the system but still kept the
hardware. I do not know what he put in it. How do I find out how to restore
the sound in steps. thanks

In your previous post you said there was no sound at all.
 
Ask the technician guy to finish the installation of the drivers for the
system he installed.
