Hi!

Bad surprise after installation of Outlook 2003.
Is there no "Freigabe" (Sharing of folders) anymore?
That would be a real pity. I don't have an Exchange-Server,
and I don't want one.

In former Outlook versions I used that function excessively
for sharing contacts between several machines.

I don't know the exact translation for "Freigabe" (German),
but I think it must have been called "sharing".

menu...file... share ... this folder
was a great function to synchronize Outlook-folders just by eMail.

Where has it gone?
I demand a patch to re-include that function into Outlook2003.

thx,
Andreas

P.S.: Does it work if I use an Outlook2000 to send
a sharing-invitation to an Outlook2003?

Hallo!

thx,
Andreas

P.S.: Kann ich (notfalls) von einem Outlook 2000 einen
Ordner freigeben an ein Outlook2003?

Hi Diane,
yes - "net folders". It was very useful.
And none of your suggestions works as well,
cause none synchronizes by POP/SMTP as far as I see.
All need some WWW-pages, dedicated servers, etc.

Is there a chance to have 2 installations,
Outlook2000 and Outlook2003 on one machine?

You're talking about net folders, and no, it doesn't work at all with
Outlook 2003. There are several good 3rd party applications that do a better
job - http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm

thanks,
Andreas

Probably not.
I tried to install Outlook 2000 (AFTER an installation of Office 2003)
and the results were a hazard. I am so happy that I could remove that
chaos again.

So now, I have completely moved back to Outlook 2000,
I don't need anything I could see in Outlook 2003,
it's fancy, it's colourful - but netfolders are USEFUL.

ciao,
Andreas
