Hi

Right click My Computer then select Properties. Can you see the System
Restore tab there?

I would find system restore by opening help and support
and you'll find system restore there, if you have it. As
far as system properties that you mention, help and
support indicates that that is computer management.

Hi

Can you access System Restore via Programs>Accessories>System Tools? Or
type the following from Start>Run:

%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

It opens but doesnot create a restore point and there is no resore points
from earlier times

Hi

You can't create a manual checkpoint? Try this:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint

You may have to try and re-install System restore.

That is my problem there is no System Restore Tab

Hi

Try and re-install System Restore:

In Windows Explorer go to the windows\inf folder and find the sr.inf file.
When found, right click on the file and select 'Install'.

Can't find it
I even did a search

I have the same problem, after upgrading to XP professional - no System
restore tab. I've followed your suggestions and re-installed, but still
no-go. Any other ideas to get the tab back?
