no response when pressing F8 on installation

after completing licensne information it says press F8 -i don't get any
response when I do that--any idea of what the problm is?
 
You are probably using a usb or wireless keyboard. If so, the drivers are
not loaded at the point you need to press F8. Try a PS2 keyboard for
installation purposes and switch after the OS is loaded.
 
Also, the "enhanced" keyboard with an F-Lock key will not
default to standard F keys, press F-Lock and then F8 if you
have that type keyboard.

On certain types of Keyboard there are dual 'functions' on the Fn keys. For
these to work for the response to 'Press F8' you will need to press the Fn
Lock key and the F8 key simultaneously.
