Hi Mike,
You're going to have trouble with system.evt also.
The best thing to do is go into the Control Panel > Administrative Tools and disable Event
log. After that reboot and do a search for appevent.evt, secevent.evt, and appevent.evt by
typing *.evt in the search for files and folders. delete these three files. Reboot, and
change you Event log Service back to Automatic. You can reboot again to make sure. I would
check my Event logs on a regular basis to see if anything strange happens. You should be
fine. Checking them closely will also help you to learn of alerts and errors and where they
come from like placing a modem in standby and then returning to use the internet without
resetting the modem. You will see an alert for DHCP having problems, there is nothing
serious. I delete the entries on a regular basis to start with a fresh logging.

When I view Application Logs, nothing appears. If I click
in the right pane it highlights an area but shows nothing.
The scroll bar is showing as if the log has entries.
Any thoughts?
