Thanks to Brian Tillman for the information and links provided. However, I
have done a query for the PST files on the sytem in question and was not able
to locate them on this XP system. Checked system and hidden files. One
thing I did notice though is that in the Outlook Express drop down menu,
there is not Backup. I downloaded Microsoft Office updates, and still no
drop down for outlook backup.

Do I need to addin this to Outlook?

Outlook Express is not part of Office and is a completely separate
application from Outlook, despite their similar names. Anything you've
asked about Outlook Express, telling us that you're using Outlook, would
have elicited an answer inappropriate to your issue, since it would have
been targeted to Outlook, which you seem not to be using. Outlook Express
doesn't use PSTs at all, so any advice I gave you about PSTs and Outlook
Backup was given under the impression you actually were using Outlook, which
no longer appears to be the case.

See http://www.insideoe.com/ for a good source of Outlook Express
information.

Hello Mr. Tillman:

As I have only just started using the systems here at work, I wrongly
assumed that everyone in the office had updated programs and like myself use
Outlook instead of Outlook express. His system was setup by someone else and
was customized with shortcuts all named Outlook.

Again, thank you for your assistance, but I now know what I have to do.

I hope that includes wringing the neck of the person who customized things
in such a confusing manner <wink>.

This is why I was hired into the position I am in. Making sure that nothing
like this ever happens again. Apparently it was a student who was learning
how to become an MCSE, but has programming experience and works for our ISP.
They already got a nasty email from me and were told never to touch our
systems again.

Again, Brian I appreciate all of your assistance in this matter. Although I
have a few more grey cells that are dead from frustration.

Have a good day

I don't know what your original post was, but Outlook Express doesn't use
PST files. Only Outlook does. Outlook Express uses other files (dbx files in
particular).

Thanks, as I explained to Brian, someone customized bosses computer and did
not leave outlook express as is and reprogrammed to display as just Outlook.
I did not find out until this morning when I did an indepth search on his
system. Thanks for your response by the way.
