Hi
I receive a message at startup saying no paging file found.
I checked the microsoft knowledge base articles and found
two that addressed this problem. The one had to do with
permissions ... I followed steps and still received the
message. The second recommended installing the intel
application accelerator ... i did this and my computer
wouldn't start ... just froze at the starting winxp screen.

Anyone have any ideas to solve this problem? I have tried
to set the size of the paging file and also to let windows
manage my virtual mem settings ... this doesn't fix the
problem either. I also have a problem where my windows
won't shut down, it just restarts and i have to manually
put the computer off when shutting down. I am am using
winxp sevice pk 1 ...

Thanks!

Hi,

Disable VM on all drives, reboot. If any pagefile.sys file still exists,
delete it. Reenable VM, allow Windows to manage it (for now) and reboot once
more.

If this does not help, make sure that the drive upon which you are enabling
it has sufficient space for the minimum size indicated.

To disable/reenable, use control panel/system/advanced/preformance
settings/advanced/"change".
