It seem a bit odd too me, but there has been no Vista Updates since SP1 came
out, even for Windows Defender..

Seems odd..

I uninstalled Onecare, and did an update of Vista, and it pulled down two
more updates for Defender... (Apr 6th).. Not sure if this was a fault of
Onecare now??

thanks

Ditto here, I have had at least two Defender updates, one as recently as
this morning.
Running Vista 64 bit Ultimate.

Windows Defender is nothing but a useless nag... like your mother-in
law in the backseat as you drive down the highway nagging you're
driving too fast, watch out for this or that. Pathetic but oh so
typical Microsoft garbage.

Here comes the monster.

Why do Microsoft's detractors hang out in Microsoft newsgroups? Go find a
product you like, and help people use it.

Why? Oh just maybe a few people are passing through and want to know
the truth about how bad Windows really is.

As far as the rest of you, it is much like an alcoholic or drug abuser
that pretends he don't have a problem. Microsoft fans are so
brainwashed and forgiving of Microsoft blunders they don't think there
are any problems or don't care if there are being eager to make feeble
excuses why you should accept things as they are, much like addicts
don't really care about anything other than finding their next drink
or getting their next fix to get them through the day.

Back on point, I see you can't factually dispute what I said.
Microsoft fans NEVER can. That's so typical. That leads me to the
inescapable conclusion many that use Windows simply accept it is crap
and don't care that it is offering up lame excuses like all software
has bugs or some equally stupid comment. How sad is that? We deserve
something better! Windows has been around for over 20 years. When the
hell will Microsoft actually deliver a version that actually does what
they claim?

The A&E Network has a excellent show called Intervention that deals
with self abuse and destructive behavior. Shame a good number of
posters here (listening Frank?) can't get an intervention to how
hooked they are on Windows. <snicker>

I can dispute it. I use it regularly now on all my Windows installs have
never had a problem with (Windows Defender), it does not nag me (or anyone
else I know that uses it, and it has often found things that other
ad/spyware software missed.
Am I a brain-washed Microsoft Crony.... Nope. In fact sometimes I am down
right pissed about how some things are released or configured by default. I
also use Linux quite regular and host all my web pages on Linux servers. I
do however own 4 Windows based systems (3 XP and 1 Vista) and Maintain 9
others (7 Vista and 2 XP). While there can be the occasional hic-up, I have
found most issues to be the result of a loose nut between the chair and the
keyboard.
I imagine this is where most of your problems come from as well. Just the
standard ID10T errors.

So it is a good thing that most the people passing through here (as you say)
will see you as I do. An inexperienced user that has constant PC issues due
to improper configurations and has temper tantrums and blames the OS when he
can't figure them out.

Damn fools like you are a dime a dozen and we seem to have a surplus
here, many puffing out their chest with a stupid MVP badge. Hint: you
haven't disputed a single thing I said, nobody has yet. Same old
story, you like all the others before you only claim you don't see the
many problems others encounter every day, so just like an alcoholic to
a person all claiming they don't have a drinking problem, oh no, they
can stop anytime they want. Maybe you like them are just too dumb to
see the problems, so you don't even know what's wrong with your
system.

One more time for the dummy crowd. Severity of problems encountered is
relative to how you use your computer. It's as simple as that. It has
little and often nothing to do with configuration. Windows simply
sucks at the root level ie HOW it handles files, mostly because it is
poorly written and little more than a crazy quilt collection of kludge
patches that were added on over and over down through the years
resulting in a house of cards that falls flat on it's face at the
slightest push. At the core, Windows hasn't really changed at all. To
fix what has been broke from the beginning would require a total
rewrite from scratch and no way Microsoft has done that or would since
fixing Windows REALLY fixing Windows would mean none of the software
written for it over the years would work on a truly "fixed" version of
Windows written from scratch. Microsoft knows that. They also know
smarter people know it too.

I get to say that because this "inexperienced" user has been using
Windows starting with version two at an average use of 10 hours a day
seven days a week. Do the math sonny.

See kid; 10 hours x 7 day a week = 70 hours x 52 weeks =3,640 hours x
21 years = 76,440 hours in which I've seen Windows screw-up in so many
ways it would be damn funny if it also didn't cause much lost time and
frustration 99% of it due to the incompetence of the bozos in Redmond
that are responsible for making Windows the mess it is. That's ok, you
keep up the good fight, just be a Lemming like the typical Windows fan
and I'll so going on snickering how dumb you are. Some of us know the
truth.

Hi Adam, glad to see you're alive, I thought you may have topped yourself
after your last attempt at trolling here went so pear shaped.
I see you still use the same old cr@p.

Hello "Cory Mariani":
I think you'll see a lot of updates for Vista on Tuesday, April 8th. I
saw somehing yesterday online mentioning something about 13 updates to be
sent out that date. If you don't get any then, something is haywire.

You should ignore Albright. He is a big time raving lunatic that hangs
in the NG attacking people. You'll soon find that out if you have not
already figured it out. Let the poor mentally disturbed clown alone.

We had disappeared for awhile, and we had hoped that he sought
professional help. It looks like that didn't happen or he has stopped
taking his medication.

The Reason That There Have Been No Windows Vista Security Updates Is,
Because None Have Been Released Since Windows Vista Service Pack One RTM's
Launch (The March Security Updates All Involved Updates 4 Various Editions
Of Microsoft Office), Just FYI.

Why don't you take you own advice fool? You know I bitch slap any
moron that's dumb enough to respond to my posts. Idiots like you so
richly deserve it too. LOL!

And you didn't change either while you were in the asylum. You're the

You mean I'm still the same guy that so easily kicks moronic Microsoft

absolutely right!
