I received a pop up in outlook 2003 basic that advised me I have to upgrade
connector in order to continue to receive email. Once upgrade is completed,
second pop up states that outlook will be restarted, however, connector is
not connected at all. When I push send/receive button, I get message
send/receive error. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Elaine: Thank you, thank you! I searched for the file named msnolcon.msi
like you did however it was located in the temporary files of my documents as
Windows Installer Package on my computer. When I clicked on the file, the
Install Wizard installed the upgrade and now I am back in business. What a
relief! Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Indeed! Thank you Elaine. My symptoms were similar. Every time I opened
Outlook, I was warned to update. I tried several times, but the warning
continued to appear each time I opened outlook. Finally, I ignored the
warning. Everything worked fine, as long as I was receiving and sending
simple emails. When I tried to send emails with attachments, I got the
following error.

Task 'MSN Mailbox - (e-mail address removed) - Sending and Receiving' reported
error (0x80040126) : 'The operation cannot be performed because the
connection to the server is offline.'

That's when I tried Elaine's solution, which completely solved the problem.
Next time I opened Outlook, my outgoing emails (with attachments) were sent.

My only variation on Elaine's solution was to click "always run programs
from microsoft.com" when I got the security warning. Hopefully, that will
allow the next update to proceed normally.
