No LAN with router

I installed a Linksys BEFW11S4 router so I can share a
DSL internet connection with two computers, both running
WinXPHome. The DSL works fine for both computers.
However, I cannot see the other computer on the network.
How do I configure the OS connections so that I have a
LAN with shared files and printer with the router?

Run XP's Network Setup Wizard on both computers and tell it that they
connect to the Internet through a residential gateway. It will make
all the right settings:
