I have 20 new Dell Optiplex gx270's. All are running Windows XP and as far as I know are configured the same. I didn't do anything differently setting each up. Two of the workstations can not see the internet. They can see all servers, and other users on the network, but can not get out with the internet explorer. This is so frustrating. I called Dell and they said the nic was seeing the network so was fine and it's a software issue possibly even a network issue. We are running Windows 2000 Server sp4. Windows XP Professional sp1 & Internet explorer 6 sp1. I can ping anyone on the internal network, but can not ping out side

I don't have the firewall on the XP set

I sure hope somebody out there can help

Thank you so much

I have a few of questions for you...

Are you pinging the internet by IP or name? Can you do one but not the
other?
Do you have a hardware firewall on the network?
If you shut down, say five PCs, then restart the two that cannot connect,
are those two still unable to connect to the Internet? If they can, are
different PCs unable to connect after you have restarted the others?
Do you use IIS or bypass it by allowing net access by having a router as
default gateway?
