I have a router with 2 computers on it. One is fine but the other has suddenly developed a problem in that I can lo longer browse the internet. It is windows XP home(recently upgraded to but had been fine). When I start the computer I get an error message dpc proxy - server name or address could not be resolved. I click OK then I also get in the upper left corne
some box message about a program called Version. It has a button to click on that gives you the choice of clicking on either TOGO or Cancel. My I cannnot connect to internet and my router shows no internet activity for this computer but the other one is fine. Lastly, when I shut down, I get a message that the program Version cannot end. McAfee shows no virus but some adware that I have deleted or quaranteened. Any thoughts

Thank

Seems like you have a problem with your ip configuration.
go to start > run and write cmd (press enter afterwards)
then write ipconfig (press enter afterwards)
These are your ip configurations. Now you should set your
router and internet lan settings according to these values
if i stand correct.
Now go to:
(1)Network Connections: My computer > (from the menu with
the blue background on your left) My network places >
(same menu) view network connections > RIGHT-CLICK on
your lan connection > properties
(2) DOUBLE-Click on internet protocol TCP/IP then make
your changes..
(3) A restart would be nice :)

I believe this should make your connections ok
