No image on HDD

Need help,

when i turn my acer laptop on the following happens.

No iamge on HDD

C:/tools>


any suggestions are gratefull

At what stage of the booting process?

just after you can access the setup screen.

loads the mouse drive and etc.

then it says

No image on HDD

C:/tools>
 
From the looks of it, you've arrived at a prompt, [so firstly check there's
no cd or floppy in the drives].

If you are familiar with commands like "dir" and "cd", then have a look
around your directory structure, to see what is in place, and what is not.

dir /?
cd /?
dir c:

Otherwise providing some background info, may help someone to advise you
further

eg the last thing you may have tried before the problem started
eg the layout of your disk eg recovery partitions and / or what xp disks you
have at your disposal
eg what you are in the process of trying etc

It sounds like the factory restore procedure is kickin in but is not finding
the image to restore. Did you try to do a factory restore? Did you create
the restore disks when you first got the computer?
