no icons in recycle bin

why is it that when i delete icons or programs nothing
shows up in recycle bin. i can click on desk top creat
new folder and delete it and it does not show up in
recycle bin, but number of items increase by one. does
anybody know what is wrong.(sometims items showup in
recycle bin other times they dont)

Try going to "Kelly's XP Corner" at:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm an on line #64, right hand
column you will find "Replace/Repair the Recycle Bin in Windows XP. The
instructions for using it are at the top of the "Tweaks" page. Give it a try
and see if it fixes your problem.

Same thing happened to me. Right click recycle bin and click the box that says "Do not move files to the recycle bin, automaticall delete files"
