Hello,
Can anyone tell me how to solve this?
I am trying to enter a formula into a cell that refers to a cell from
separate sheet (In the same workbook). When I type in the formula th
cell lists the formula just like I entered it I.E (=Takeoff!F731) bu
will not perform any function.
The Sheet that I am trying to write the formula to was copied from
another workbook but it has no links to it - Could this be the problem

I will greatly appreciate any response or comments

Thanks

Hi Dave!

Probably some other reason.

Try entering the formula by pointing and clicking the cell.

Type =
Then navigate to your Takeoff sheet and select F731
Enter

It's a pretty foolproof system that ensures that you make no syntax or
speling errors.

Sounds like your cell is formatted as text. Select the cell, press Ctrl-1
and select something other than text. Then re-enter your formula.

/i.

And one more thing:

Maybe you're viewing formulas.

Tools|Options|View|Uncheck formulas.

Ctrl-` (backquote--to the left of the 1 above the Tab key on my USA keyboard) is
the shortcut key toggle.

(maybe you hit it by mistake.)
