Hi
We have a problem with our laptops. Sometimes when they boot they don´t get
any DHCP-adress when they are connected to our company network. We suspect
that it could have something to do with our security application that we have
on all our laptops since that is the only difference from our stationary
computers. (No problem with them)
The problem started after we uppgraded to SP2 but it is not always and a
reboot (Or a couple) fixes the problem or with a deactivate/activation of the
network card.
We think that perhaps SP2 has replaced some of the files that our
security-application uses but that´s just a theory.
When we look at the XP-log we get an error-message something like "The
time-limit for the semafore has been reached"
I know wonder if there is a way to log all the steps in the boot to see
where the problem may be, and see if the machine tries to contact a
DHCP-server or if the request never comes.
