I have a new(two weeks old) computer with XP Pro. I am new
to the cable modem thing and was trying to stop the
hacker. I think I denyed myself, including the system
access to my harddrive. I turned off the computer and now
it won't go past the XP Pro screen. I have no idea how to
reset the permission without doing a complete system
recovery and losing everything on my computer.

There are so many things people can adjust, if we are
going to see if you have a way back we need to know
exactly what you have done when "trying to stop the
hacker"

I was Using Spybot and I was looking at the information
about one of them. A box cam up that had a list of the
names that (I think Hackers) and I expanded and it cam up
with the security box(The box that comes up under
Properties-Security). I then Denied access to them. But I
didn't know what I was doing so I think I really denied
myself access.

I think you're probably misunderstanding the results of the spybot program, for what it's worth. What it probably gave you was a list of programs and registry keys that it suspects are pieces of sypware. The odds that an entire list of hackers is trying to gain access to your personal PC is very low unless you are either incredibly rich, or have some large-scale political agenda. I can't imagine that a popular spyware program would disable something that prevented Windows from starting up properly... I'm no tech support guy, but it would probably be easier for those here who are if you detailed exactly what happens when you boot, and exactly what happened last time you were able to view your desktop...

Try pressing F8 as its booting & select "Last Good Known
Configuration", this will load the last good copy of the
registry that XP used to boot up with.
