No centre speaker sound with 5.1 speakers and Creative Player Live! 5.1

I have 5.1 speakers with a Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1
Card. I get no sound from the centre speaker.
The speaker and cable are fine as I've swopped them
about. The only application that gets sound through it is
Creative's diagnostics.
I know I had sound once, but only recently noticed it was
gone. I've tried the drivers from Creative's website and
the ones that Windows Update insists I should use.
Neither give me centre speaker sound.
Any ideas?

I don't know if you have the same with a Soundblaster Live card, but with an
Audigy the fix is to open up Ceative Playcenter, open up the tray window (an
arrow next to EAX), click on CMS, choice of on or off. That should do it.
Have a look if you have the Playcenter and see if that works. Let us know
please.

Playcenter... that's the Media Player-like app, isn't it?
I haven't got it installed, but I'll dl it any try. I'll
let you know if it works

Cheers

I have the Audigy 2 card and I do not have the Creative
Playcenter option. Could it be a different name? I have
the same problem.
Thanks,
Bamaboy

i have the same problem

no one seems to have the answer

the iviaudio does not let u choose the 5.1 option

It seems a lot of people are having similar problems. I'm
positive my centre speaker used to get sound - I wonder
if something in SP1 or a hotfix is causing this? If I can
find a spare hard drive I'll do a fresh install of XP and
see if that works.
