Hi

I have a laptop which i bought second hand around a year ago, id like to
format the hard drive and start with a clean install of xp home, the only
problem is i dont have the xp home cd, although i have the cd key which is on
the base of the laptop, how do i go about doing a clean install?

Without any media, you can't. The best you can do is try to recover the
system using the methodology provided by the computer manufacturer.

That's always a good thing to do whenever you acquire a used computer.

You may have a recovery partition on the hard drive. Contact the maker of
the computer to find out. If not, and if they can't provide you with a
method, your only recourse will be to buy another copy.
