I wanted to make a backup of my registry prior to making
some changes to remove adware and spyware from my
computer and unfortunately under Accessories-->System
Tools my computer does not have the Backup option there.
It is on my other computer which is running XP Pro. This
sytem is running XP Home Edition. Does this have
anything to do with it? Is there anyway I can get the
backup utility?

It is also on your xp home cd,It doesn't install by
default.

The way you back up the registry is go to the run line and type in regedit .
Then click on file and export . choose the location of where you want to
export the registry .. then click save ... remember where you put it just in
case ..

The best way is the the System State selection in the
NTbackup.exe utility. This is avaiable on all retail
Home edition CDs for optional install, and is omitted
in a number of OEM CDs.
