No autofill entry?

Using Outlook 2003. There are multiple address lists. In one of them,
there is an entry including email address.

When typing in the 'TO:' field, this particular address does not pop up
as an option to choose. Is there something I'm missing here? Why
wouldn't an entry in an address list not pop up when autofill is
popping in other entries as options?

TIA

Auto complete does not use the Address Book. It uses previously typed
addresses. If you want to search for an address, start typing a few letters
and then select Check Names. A list of possibles will appear from your main
Contact list, but not from all your multiples lists. Names will also not
appear if the name in the Contacts folder does not have email addresses.

There are also utilities that can auto-populate the autocomplete file.

And I have to admin that the white paper on youtr site does a good job of
describing how to do it using Outlook alone.

Stupid fingers.

And I have to admit that the white paper on your site does a good job...

Thanks Brian,

It's not all about selling, it's about developing solutions to help.

Milly Staples seems to think that ANYONE developing a solution, (for profit
or not) are tantamount to pond scum. I'm glad that all MVP's don't think
like her.

No, Milly doesn't like self-serving shills like you appear to be. I have no
problem with developers of any kind, and some of my best friends, including
other Outlook MVPs, are among them.

While I'm not an MVP, I also think there have been times that you've pushed
your product quite hard at times in situations when it didn't seem
warranted, especially when you say that anyone who suggests the deleting the
cache file needs his head examined. There are times that starting over is
appropriate and no tool is required for that.
