Hello,

Well I would guess that you have not yet installed any drivers onto your
computer. Whenever you run a fresh install of windows you must install your
drivers. It's hard to just tell you what to do or where to go to get your
drivers too. So if you have a cd that came with your computer that says
drivers pop it in and install the drivers. To Check which drivers are
missing go to Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware
Tab > Device Manager. This will tell you what devices are missing drivers by
putting a yellow exclamation mark by the items that need drivers. Respond
with more info if you need more help.

You have to install drivers (software) for your sound card. Windows XP has some of the more common
sound card drivers, but not all of them. You did not perchance note the make and model of your
sound card before you did the reinstall did you? Is the sound card a separate card or part of the
motherboard? Is your computer a custom built model or a big-name model? This type of information
would get you a lot more help than we can give you now.
