I have been around Windows for a long, long time. This is
a new one for me. I installed a cisco aironet 350 on a
clients box and I have no way (using Network Connections,
Adapter Properties) to set WEP. There is no advanced tab
and no "Wireless Networks" tab. Anybody know how I can get
them?
Thanks,
Rex
Make sure that the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running:
1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click Wireless Zero Configuration. If the Service status is
Stopped, click Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.
If WZC doesn't appear in the list of available services, something,
such as the configuration program for a wireless network adapter, has
deleted it. In that case, you can either:
1. Use the utility program to make the wireless settings, or:
2. Re-install WZC:
a. Run the registry editor.
b. Open this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC
c. Create a DWORD value named "Start" and set it to 2.
