I created a new user account with administrator options.
I then deleted the old administrator account. When I
deleted the old account, the new one disappeared as well.
I am now left without an administrator for windows xp.
Does anyone know how I can recreate an administrator
account.

Greetings --

The built-in Administrator account _cannot_ be deleted, although
it can be renamed. Pleased repost with a more accurate description of
your problem and the sequence of events leading up it.

Once any additional user accounts have been created, the
Administrator account will no longer be displayed on the Welcome
Screen. This is a default security feature. Is this what you mean by
"deleted?" By design, the only way to log into the Administrator
account of WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro,
pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the
standard login dialog box.

The built-in Administrator account really isn't intended to be
used for day-to-day normal use. The standard security practice is to
set a strong password on it and use it only to create another account
for regular use, reserving the Administrator account as a "back door"
in case something corrupts your regular account(s).

It´s in swedish, but I try.
It´s not possible to log in because of a limitiation in the account.
Does that give any clue?

It didn´t, I loged on in safe mod to give the account a password. Now if I
log in without a password it says wrong pass or account name. When I put in
the password I get the limitation error. The register was what it should be.
The fault begun when I did a new clean install of WindowsXP Home, but I´m
sure that I was able to log in as administator before the reinstall. I hate
when I don´t understand what I´m doing, and whats wrong. If you have
anything else, let me know. Thanks for all help anyway.
