hi

i have a problem with a windows 2000 server system.
an admin deleted !!all!! permissions on a service with secedit. can
everybody tell my a way to give permission again.

maybe, i can give the permission in the registry!?

Thx pat

- Fire the administrator for being criminally stupid.
- Create a batch job with the appropriate secedit
commands inside, then schedule it with at.exe
if you can. The job will run under the System account.

thx for the input... but this also do not work.
then the service is without any permission.

the log

If you're patient enough then you can do this:

- Install the disk as a slave disk in some other Win2000 PC.
- Use regedt32.exe to edit the registry on the slave disk.
- Locate the place where the permissions are stored, and
modify them.

As to where the permissions are kept, I don't have the
faintest idea.

i do not now too. so i think thats not repairable.
or maybe with a lot of time!! :-)

maybe a frind of you know more, otherwise i reinstall the system.

thx a lot for your help
