I'm looking for a free newsreader add-in for Outlook 2002. Are there
such things and can anyone reccommend one?

Thanks

Internet Explorer comes with one. It's called Outlook Express and it's the
default newsreader for Outlook. You can also use Forte Agent, Xnews,
Mozilla, or any of several other free ones.

Unfortunately OE can't be used over a network AFAIK, which is why I was
asking for an add-in to Outlook which I do use occasionally over a
network (yes I know MS doesn't support pst files on a network
drive........). Thunderbird works over a network but it's quite slow to
load compared with Outlook.....

I've had a look there - unfortunately it's not free!

I've never seen any NNTP or RSS add-in for Outlook that is free. There are
several NNTP add-ins, but they're all commercial.

I'm not sure what you mean by "over a network". Are you saying that you
want the DBX files to be on a network drive?

Yes, and tomsterdam says it can't be done.

That's what I unfortunately thought!
