NIS 2004 wont install

NIS 2004 will not finish installing. About the time I get to the Event Driver portion of the installation, I keep getting the c:\windows\system32\services.exe program has unexpectedly terminated. the computher will now shut down. Initiated by NT Authority. I have had NIS fully installed 1 time, but had to do uninstall because the IM scanning was not working and I couild not enable the auto protect. I have scrubbed the comp of all the symantec files (even registry) but I keep getting same error. Norton said its a windows problem... Any help is apprciated.

Are you looking for info about the cause of "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)",
initiated by NT Authority\System error message that shuts down Windows
(you might also see svchost.exe error occasionally)?

NIS 2004 is very buggy! go back to 2003 to many issues with it.

I have done a manual and computer Search of registry and
system32 and no MSblast. I am trying to find out why
when I get to the Event driver on NIS2004 portion of the
installation,I get the error message, and how to identify
and fix the problem.
