My computer keeps re-booting due to Windows Explorer
encountering a problem and having to close (on Windows
XP). I have looked the error code up on Microsoft and
the explanation it gives is that I most probably have a
virus called Nimda.E or Nimda.A. I have tried a couple
of removal tools from Symantec which both stated there
were no signs of the virus on my PC. What do I do now?

Have you checked for spyware/malware seeing as you don't have a virus?

Downloadable McAfee AVERT Stinger:
Stinger: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a
substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist
administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes
next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally
signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

Search for Nimda removal tools on Microsoft web sites and then use them to remove the virus.

After that enable the firewall and update your computer with all the latest patches.

I've tried the Stinger and it seems to scan all my files
and everything but My PC is still rebooting automatically.
