Either update the drivers for them, or remove and reinstall the current
drivers if updated drivers are not available.

If you've only just done the SP2 installation, reboot the PCs in question.
The NICs should eventually be found and reappear in Device Manager. You may
have to wait for an hour or so.

thanks but i've tried all that

Just installed SP2 and now my ethernet cards are missing. they still
function properly but can't access them to make changes and device manager
says they aren't there.

Perhaps you have an obsolescent NIC and the only available drivers are
not sp2-compatible?

thanks but i've tried all that

Reboot one or two more times and look at it in the morning. You may just be
surprised. I've seen it take about 3 reboots before everything reappears.

Thanks any way. I ran system restore and reinstalled sp2 from a disk instead
of microsoft update. Everything seams to be working fine right now.
