Okay, I might have solved the other issue, but now my windows theme is stuck on what looks like a W98 setting...I can't get the display back to the standard XP look

Any suggestions?

Verify that the 'themes' service is enabled in Start > Run >
services.msc
Check your settings in My Computer > Properties > Advanced options

Right-click on the desktop, go to Properties > Themes, choose 'Windows
XP' theme and click apply.

Good luck
