Has there been an announcement that I have missed - what happened to
windowsxp.newusers?
I no longer have it as a subscription and it is not in the list of groups
from which to choose.

It's your news server that has dropped it.

There was a malfunction on the Microsoft servers a couple days ago and a
whole bunch of newsgroups got dropped. When OE discovered that the
newsgroup wasn't there it deleted it.

Reset your list of newsgroups and resubscribe.

I know someone said your server dropped it, but try re-downloading the
groups list.

About five of my groups (on the msnews server) disappeared the other
day, but when I refreshed the list, they returned, and I resubscribed.

I really have no idea what that was all about.
