I used to use a newsgroup statistic program that worked with Hamster
server. Can anyone point me to what it was? I've switched computers and
want to play around with it again or see if it has been updated.

Many thanks in advance.

My newsreader (Xananews) has a newsgroup statistic tool that will give
you some statistics of a subscribed newsgroup but you have to download
the headers of the period of time you want the statistics for.

It came to pass that on 14 Feb 2006,
(e-mail address removed) scribed thusly to all in
alt.comp.freeware the following inspiration:
Maybe one of these will ring a bell.

Hamster Classic
http://www.tglsoft.de/misc/hamster_en.html

Hamster Playground
http://www.elbiah.de/hamster/index.htm

I looked around there and couldn't find the program as I remember it.
Hmmmm...I almost believe that it had the name Hamster in it, but it wasn't
Hamster playground.

Thanks for the post, though.

Yep, that same sort of functionality is what this program did. It did
statistics on the downloaded information in Hamster.

It was probably GoldFind, <http://www.goldpool.org/GoldFindH.html>.
Heiko Studt no longer offers it, but he links to an updated version by
Miroslav Sabljic. The HamFind he mentions is at
<http://www.elbiah.de/hamster/hamfind/index.htm>. I don't know if
HamFind produces stats reports.

You Welcome.
I used to use that script but also couldn't remember the name of it.
»Q« was right again. Dammit.
