When I attempt to view additional pages in this newsgroup
I get a message that the newsgroup is not available. I
don't have this problem with other newsgroups. Any clues
would be appreciated. This message has been present for
the last 2 or 3 days.

While I'm whining, I get a message that the newsgroup is
being updated when I attempt to do a search. The search
function has been out of order for a couple of months.

GranpaB.

I don't know if there is something, however I see as well amount of the
messages growing.

That can be because the retention time is changed or the administrator is
sleeping. This makes the newsgroup huge and therefore not so well for dialup
lines.

It was after the attack on the Microsoft newsgroup server forever 2 months
and was in my opinion very nice. However, the dotNet newsgroups are again
grewing, what for a dial up visitor from the larger newsgroups as this one
can be a reason not to visit it; The first startup time is very long (So the
problem will be solved when nobody visit this newsgroup anymore because
problems as I mentioned or/and like yours).

I don't know if this is done expressly or by accident or/and if it is as
well related to your problem.

I assume that you are using Microsoft's web interface to access the
newsgroups. There was a report similar to yours in a German group some days
ago -- I assume that the problem is caused by temporary problems.

Thanks to everyone that has responded. After I read your
responses, I clicked on the next page and it was working
once again. I will look into using Google and/or Outlook
Express as my reader. It is a shame that Bill, with his
minions and millions cannot get the simple details
working correctly and reliably.
