News feeds.

Folks,
I realize this probably the wrong place to be asking this but has anybody
does anything with news services where they download news information off
the web? Part of our product is news headlines that are updated through the
day and we currently are using a paid service but that seems silly (it's
also a pain in the ass to us.)

What about the RSS feed from somebody like yahoo? Is it free? Can we use it
as part of a product? Do you just poll it every once in a while and see if
there are changes?

Jeff,

That's basically how it works. You might want to check the legal
ramifications of using RSS feeds in your product. Im sure for personal
consumption, people don't mind, but you might have an issue in using it to
enhance your product (depending on the publisher).
