I use Office 2003. I jsut set up a news account and everything was going fine
until I exited from the account. When I went to go back into it, the "news"
command was missing from my "Go" dropdown list. What happened to it? I went
to put it back in the drop down list, and it isnt in the commands list now
either. It seems that it trnsferred to Outlook Express, which I dont use. Is
there anyway to retrieve it back to Office 2003?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Only Outlook Express has the ability to read the newsgroups. Office 2003 doesnt have any feature to do that.

May i ask how did u get that in office 2003.

AThanks for your responce.

The way I set it up through Office Outlook 2003 was as follows:

At the options arrow at the end of the standard toolbar, I clicked
add/remove buttons... then customize. At the command tab of the dialog box i
highlighted GO, and scrolled to NEWS. I then dragged the news command to the
GO drop down list above the standard toolbar and placed it where I wanted it.
From there, I clicked NEWS and isetup my news server and downloaded news
groups.
After closing Office Outlook 2003 and then re-opening it later, the NEWS
command was missing from the drop down list and from the command tab at
add/remove buttons.. But I checked Outllok Express and saw that the news
server had been added there along with all of the news groups that I had
subscribed too.

Thanks again fior your assistance. Seems to me Microsoft would have added
that function to Office Outlook 2003 as well. Maybe in the future they will.

I would post your question to a Outlook newsgroup. You should be able to
add "News" to either the Go menu or to a separate toolbar. When added,
"News" will open Outlook Express in a news reader only mode. I use "News"
that way from Outlook 2003 with no problems. However, I have seen posts on
some having problems. I do not recall the details of the problem posts or
suggested resolutions.
