Mister Charlie

Been using this free newsserver for years, today I get a 502-you are not
on my access list error.

I just finally got back in and the newsgroups (except this one oddly)
are howing no messages available.

Anyone else having a problem with this?

I'm having problems right now.
It goes now and then, with different errors.
Now I was able to connect with this group but I'm not sure to be able to
successfully post: I'll try!

I had the same problem.

Seems to be back now (knocks wood).

Thanks...I never got an access denied error before...I know they go down
occasionally, usually for a fairly brief amount of time. Seems alright
now, tho, so I'll just plug along.

Yeah, and since I'd just changed ISPs, I started to panic. But I tried to
go to their website and got a 'refused connection' error, so I knew they
were just down. Panic over.

LOL....yes, I too had a Maalox moment there. It's still not doing
anything with rec.music.beatles but the other newsgroups seem to be
working, tho it takes a long time for my post to go thru. I would guess
they're just having problems and are working on it now.

Plus they've probably got a heavier load, of people who couldn't get in
before. So it's natural for it to be slower.

There is something "wrong" with the Internet the past 2 days. I haven't
been able to get to Yahoo mail starting yesterday morning, and right now, a
message board I commonly use simply will not load.

Yahoo seems to freeze because ads.googlenation is not available, and the
message board won't load because some "sitemap" site is not available.

I just loaded news.cis.dfn.de just fine, though.

Obviously, yes. i don't post per individual.de, but in the German
connection issues group there are suddenly *three* threads re:
individual.

I have just recieved all of today's posts.
Like my regular ISP it has it's ups and downs.
But I can't beat this server. It's the fastest one I've used and doesn't
drop posts as much as Adelphia.

It seems to be receiving groups at random except this one which it gets
everytime.

I had the same message and the service is very up and down. Especially for
:alt music.mp3
It is generally pretty good. maybe affected by the university being on
holidays and nobody to fix any glitches.

I have had the opposite - some groups I get, but others including this
one I have seen no messages since it went down - until now, when I
unsubbed from alt.comp.freeware, deleted everything, then resubbed -
now got loads of messages, including this long thread L-)

Subject: [Individual] Crash on December 29th

As you might have already learned: The news server News.Individual.NET
crashed on December 29th at about 5:15pm CET (4:15pm UTC, 11:15am EST) and
was not available for the following 80 minutes.

Some articles got lost due to the crash. We did some clean-up and will
re-feed missing articles within the next hours.

Some newsreaders might report duplicate articles. This is an annoying
side-effect of the crash and what we did afterwards but repairing this
would take too much time.

that and they have changed to www.individual.net so this is the domain
you should be polling news.individual.net same username / password.
Works fine for me.
