Can anyone help me to disable the constant "newly discovered devices"
messages that pop up at startup? I have Windows XP. Thanks.

That normally comes for hardware that hasn't finished the installation
yet, usually due to the user canceling the process. Let it finish, or
provide a detailed timeline of what you did to the PC just prior to this
issue starting to happen.

Go into Device Manager, do you see any listed devices with yellow
exclamation points? If so, you need drivers for that device. You get the
drivers from the website of the maker of your computer. If this is for added
hardware, you need to go the the hardware maker's website and download
drivers there.

He isn't talking about hardware devices. He means "Discovered Devices;" other computers on your LAN, servers, etc.
