My PC is acting strange. For example, when ever I try to log out, it
gets hung. At times, the PC reboots for no reason.

I wanted to do the XP repair install in hopes it works.

How do I do this?

Rich,

don't rule out a hardware error. About 50% of the time it's the
memory (RAM) that acts up, but it can be almost anything. You
could find and run a RAM test program.

Can't hurt to do a repair installation either, but when the
hardware is flakey, every kind of software installation becomes
risky.

Before you do the repair, run Adaware SE and Spybot S & D (1.3), both
available free from download .com to remove any spies. Update both before
you run them. Then, update your virus protection and run it. If you don't
have a current virus checker, try one of the online checkers. I like Panda
or Housecall. (Google them)

After you are sure your machine is clean, then do the repair install.
